36 cars prepared for new ministers, oath at 7pm

The new cabinet led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will take oath at 7pm on Thursday at Bangabhaban. As part of the preparation, the Department of Government Transport has readied cars to be handed over to the new ministers.

At around 12pm, 36 cars were seen in front of the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat. According to sources at the department, the cars would be sent to the residents of the new ministers at around 3pm.

However, the source also said a tentative number of cars were prepared, and their number does not indicate the size of the cabinet.

Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain will conduct the new ministers' oath-taking ceremony at Durbar Hall of the Bangabhaban on Thursday.

On January 7, the 12th national election was held in 299 seats.

Bangladesh Awami League won 222 seats, Jatiya Party won 11 seats and independent candidates 62 seats, partners of the Awami League-led 14-party combine -Workers Party and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasod) got one seat each.

Bangladesh Kalyan Party won one seat in the polls.
