Mild cold wave may continue till Tuesday

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in its weather forecast for Saturday that a mild cold wave might continue throughout the Rangpur division and the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Chuadanga, and Kushtia.

On Saturday, starting at 9 am, the BMD issued a three-day forecast indicating that there might be moderate to thick fog nationwide from midnight to morning, with isolated areas perhaps witnessing as much as midday on Tuesday.

Air navigation, inland river transportation, and road communication may all experience brief interruptions due to dense fog.

The nation's nighttime and daytime temperatures may not change significantly until Sunday morning, although the country's midday temperatures may slightly rise on Sunday.

Nonetheless, the Met Office said that Monday's daytime high would decrease significantly across the nation, cold day conditions are expected to linger in some regions.

The nation's maximum temperature, recorded at Teknaf in Chattogram division, was 26.4 degrees Celsius, while Saturday's lowest temperature of the day was 8.8 degrees Celsius at Dinajpur in Rangpur division.

The sun will rise on Sunday at 6.43 am and set on Saturday at 5.31 pm in the capital.
