Arrest warrants issued against Evaly's Rassel, Shamima

A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants against Evaly Managing Director (MD) Mohammad Rassel and Chairman Shamima Nasrin in a cheque fraud case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ali Haider's court issued the arrest warrants on Monday (January 15).

Previously, the MD and chairman were summoned to the court in the case. As they failed to be present at the court, the arrest warrants were issued.

According to the case documents, the plaintiff Tanvir Hossain paid Tk 2,45,000 through mobile banking to Evaly to purchase a motorbike on March 13, 2021. However, Evaly failed to deliver the product within 45 days.

On September 13 Evaly gave him a bank cheque of the same amount, which was dishonoured at several banks. Regarding the matter, a legal notice was sent to Evaly on October 22. As they failed to take any measures, the case was filed against Rassel and Shamima.
