RAB arrests man who was jailed for 47yrs

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a fugitive convict, who was jailed for 47-years in five cases filed with separate police stations across the country, from Paltan area of the capital on Monday.

The arrested was identified as Abdul Latif Bhuiyan, 55, son of late A Latif Bhuiyan of village Dhamati under Debidwar thana in Cumilla district.

Deputy Director of RAB-10 Aminul Islam confirmed the matter to BSS saying that acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-10 conducted a raid in the Paltan area and arrested Latif.

RAB personnel said the arrested is accused in several cases, including corruption.

After initial quizzing, Latif confessed that he has been convicted over several cases, Aminul added.
