11 flights fail to land in Dhaka

Due to a blanket of heavy fog, 11 flights failed to land at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Wednesday.

As the fog lowered visibility of the runways, they were diverted and landed in Sylhet, Chattogram, Hyderabad, and Kolkata airports. This situation persisted from Tuesday midnight to around 10:15 am on Wednesday. Some flights also failed to take off from the HSIA due to the fog.

According to HSIA Executive Director Group Captain Muhammed Kamrul Islam, the diverted flights started returning to the HSIA at around 10:45am.
