Metro to operate till 8:40pm on Uttara-Motijheel route

Dhaka Metro Rail will operate on the Uttara-Motijheel route from morning to night from January 20 (Saturday).

"The metro rail will operate on the Uttara-Motijheel route from 7:10 am to 8:40 pm," according to a Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) official notification issued Thursday.

Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd MAN Siddique said that the first train will leave Uttara for Motijheel at 7:10am and will continue until 8:30pm, while the last train will leave Motijheel at 8:40pm.

Now the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Line-6 is being operated from 7:30 am to 11:30 am on the Uttara-Motijheel section, while it is being run from 7:10 am to 8:00 pm on the Uttara-Agargaon section, the notification said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the second phase of the much-desired metro rail service from Agargaon to Motijheel on November 4, 2023.

However, Dhaka University and Bijoy Sarani stations were opened on December 13 and Shahbagh and Karwan Bazar stations were opened on December 31.
