32 arrested in DMP anti-drug drives

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 32 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the capital in the last 24 hours.

Several drives were carried out simultaneously at different parts of the metropolis from 6am on Saturday to 6am on Sunday, according to a DMP release.

During the anti-drug drives, police seized 14,109 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets, 114 kg 250 gm of cannabis (ganja), and 16 gm heroin, the release added.

Police filed 22 separate cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
