All schools in Khulna closed

Classes in all educational institutions at the primary and secondary levels in Khulna district have been closed due to a cold wave and temperatures plunging below 10 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

Khulna District Primary Education Officer and Secondary Education Officer in two separate letters gave the directive to cancel classes. Schools will remain closed until maximum temperature rises to 10 degrees Celsius or above.

Khulna met office in charge Amirul Azad said the lowest temperature in the district was logged at 9.6 degrees Celsius at 6am, the lowest this season.

On January 16, the government issued a directive that said administrations can keep the primary and secondary schools shut if the temperature of a district dips below 10 degrees Celsius.
