HC bench pronounces judgment in Bangla in respect to language martyrs

A High Court (HC) division bench on Thursday pronounced its judgments and orders in Bangla in respect to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the historic Language Movement in 1952.

The bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md Atabullah pronounced all its judgments and orders in Bangla.

"Today is February 1, first day of the month of language movement. We are going to pronounce all the orders today in Bangla," the bench said at the beginning of today's proceedings.

Both the divisions of the Supreme Court had come up with 148 judgments and orders in 2023.

Of the 148, Justice M Enayetur Rahim of Appellate Division Chamber Judge Court gave 145 orders in Bangla. Three benches of the High Court Division had pronounced three judgments and orders in Bangla as well.
