Massive crowd gathers at Ijtema grounds for Akheri Munajat

The first phase of the 57th Bishwa Ijtema, one of the largest global Muslim gatherings, concluded today through Akheri Munajat.

Scores of Muslims have started to gather at the Ijtema grounds early on Sunday morning, hoping to take part in the Akheri Munajat.

The first phase of Bishwa Ijtema began on the bank of the Turag River at Tongi, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on February 2. Followers of Maulana Zubairul Hasan Kandhlawi will join the first phase of Bishwa Ijtema to be held from February 2 to 4.

Meanwhile, with the participation of the supporters of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi, the second phase of the Ijtema will be held at the same venue from February 9 to February 11.

The Tabligh Jamaat has been hosting the Bishwa Ijtema at Tongi since 1967 and introduced the phase system in 2011 to better manage the growing number of participants.
