28 arrested in DMP anti-drug drives

Members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in several anti-drug drives arrested 28 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the last 24 hours.

The drives were carried out simultaneously at different parts of the metropolis from 6am on Saturday to 6am on Sunday, according to a DMP release.

During the anti-drug drives, police seized 206 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets, 14 kg 970 gm of cannabis (ganja), and 129.4 gm of heroin, the release added.

Police filed 21 separate cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
