Shoe factory in Puran Dhaka catches fire

A shoe factory in Puran Dhaka's Mahuttuli area caught fire early on Monday. It was brought under control within half an hour.

Confirming the matter, the Fire Service and Civil Defence Media Cell Officer Shahjahan Shikder said the fire broke out on the ground floor of a building at 9:20am. Five firefighting units worked to bring the fire under control at 9:52 am.

The origin of the fire and the extent of damage could not be immediately ascertained.
