Moon sighting committee to fix Shab-e-Barat date on Sunday

The National Moon Sighting Committee will hold a meeting on Sunday to fix the date of the holy Shab-e-Barat of Hijri 1445 after reviewing reports on the appearance of the new moon of Shaban month.

The meeting will be held at the Islamic Foundation conference room at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 6:15pm after Magrib prayers, according to a press release issued Saturday.

Religious Affairs Minister Md Faridul Haque Khan will preside over the meeting, the release added.

People are requested to inform the committee about moon sightings over the following telephone numbers - 02-223381725,02-41050912,02-41050916 and 02-41050917- or through fax numbers - 02-223383397 and 02-95559, or to contact deputy commissioner of the respective district or concerned Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).
