Anti-drug drives: DMP arrests 34 in the capital

Members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in several anti-drug drives arrested 34 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the last 24 hours.

The drives were carried out simultaneously at different parts of the metropolis from 6am on Wednesday to 6am on Thursday, according to a DMP release.

During the anti-drug drives, police seized 1,184 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets, 184 gm Heroin, 30kg 360 grams of cannabis (ganja), and 10 bottles of Phensedyl, the release added.

Police filed 24 separate cases against the arrestees in these connections with respective police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
