12 restaurants at Dhanmondi's Gawsia Twin Peak sealed off

Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) has sealed off 12 restaurants located inside the Gawsia Twin Peak building on Dhanmondi Satmasjid Road in the capital.

Tazina Sarwar, deputy secretary and director of Zone-3 (Rajuk) told reporters on Monday afternoon.

The move came four days after a deadly fire in a building on Bailey Road that left at least 46 people dead.

She led a mobile court operation at the building this morning. 

While talking to reporters, Tazina said the restaurants were sealed off as the building was constructed for commercial use rather than housing restaurants.

Meanwhile, the mobile team fined the ninth-floor restaurant "Spice and Herbs" Tk two lakh.
