7 killed in Pirojpur road crash

Seven people were killed in a collision among a bus; a battery-operated auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle in Jhowtala are on the Pirojpur-Paderhat road of Pirojpur Sadar Upazila around 12:30pm on Friday.

Among the victims, five are men and two are women, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station Ashikuzzaman.

According to eyewitness sources, a bus was moving towards Chandipur from Pirojpur bus stand around 11:30 am. The bus rammed a passenger-laden battery-operated auto-rickshaw and a motorcycle from behind. 

All the deceased were auto-rickshaw and motorcycle riders, said the OC adding that legal measures are being taken in this incident.
