Education Ministry will take action upon receiving HC order's copy

The Education Ministry declared that they will follow the High Court's order to close primary and secondary schools nationwide during the month of Ramadan as soon as they obtain a copy of its order.

“We did not yet to get the copy of the order. Once we get the copy, we will take steps in line with rules,” reads a press release signed by Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Education MA Khair on Sunday.

The High Court has directed the government to shut primary and secondary schools throughout the entire month of Ramadan.

Justices KM Kamrul Kader and Khizir Hayat Lizu passed the order on Sunday following a writ petition filed by a student's guardian.

Earlier, the government decided to keep secondary schools open for the first fifteen days of Ramadan and primary schools open for the first ten.
