Bangladeshi ship hijacked in Indian Ocean

A Bangladeshi flag ship named ‘MV Abdullah’ has been captured by pirates in the Indian Ocean at 1:00pm on Tuesday. 

The incident took place in the Indian Ocean while the ship was on its way to the United Arab Emirates with coal from the African country of Mozambique.

KSRM Group, the company that owns the ship, got the news that the ship was under the control of pirates.

Meherul Karim, Chief Executive Officer of KSRM Group, said the vessel was bound for the United Arab Emirates with coal from Mozambique. 

“On the way, the pirates managed to capture it in the Indian Ocean. A total of 23 sailors of the ship are safe. The ship's captain is Abdur Rashid. After learning about the incident, we are trying to communicate with the sailors of the ship,” he added.

In 2016, the 190-meter long 'MV Abdullah' ship was built.
