Abducted bank manager rescued: Rab

Nizam Uddin, the manager of Sonali Bank's Ruma upazila branch, has been rescued from the captivity of robbers.

Director of the Legal and Media Wing of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Commander Khandaker Al Moin confirmed the matter Thursday evening.

He said, "Nizam Uddin, manager of Sonali Bank, was rescued from Ruma Bazar area around 7:30 pm. RAB mediated with KNF in various processes and rescued him. Now he is being taken to the local RAB camp in Bandarban."

Armed robbers stormed into the Ruma upazila parishad complex in Bandarban on April 2. They snatched away firearms from the security guards. They then looted the Sonali Bank branch and abducted the bank manager.
