Two die from heat stroke

The prevailing heat wave affecting most parts of the country caused two people to die from heat stroke on Saturday. 

The deceased were identified as Sukumar Das (6) from Pabna and Zakir Hossain (30) from Chuadanga. 

According to locals, Sukumar Das was having tea at a roadside shop at the Rupkotha More in Pabna city at noon when he had a heat stroke. Locals rushed him to the Pabna General Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead. 

On the other hand, Zakir Hossain was working in a field on Saturday morning when he fell ill. He was found in critical condition and died while on the way to Damurhuda Upazila Health Complex. 

On Saturday, the highest temperature at Ishwardi of Pabna was recorded at 41.6 degrees Celcius, while the highest temperature at Chuadanga was 42.3 degrees Celcius.
