Fuel prices go up

The price of diesel has been hiked by Tk 1 per litre and prices of petrol and octane by Tk 2.50 per litre.

The new price will come into effective from May 1.

A gazette of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources was issued in this regard on Tuesday.

As per new price hike, a litre of diesel will cost Tk 107 while the petrol price will be Tk 124.50 and octane will be Tk 128.50, reads the gazette.

Beginning in March of this year, the government implemented a program to adjust local fuel costs with global rates.

Using an automatic pricing mechanism, the price of kerosine and diesel was lowered by Tk 2.25 per litre in April, but the price of gasoline and octane stayed the same.
