Harun Ar Rashid made new RAB DG

Md Harun Ar Rashid, additional inspector general of police, has been appointed as the new director general (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the elite force of Bangladesh Police.

A gazette notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Md Mahabub Rahman Sheikh of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, was issued to this end on Wednesday.

The order will come into effect on June 5, according to the notification.

Harun Ar Rashid will replace the existing RAB DG M Khurshid Hossain.
