Mild earthquake jolts parts of Bangladesh

A 5-magnitude earthquake jolted Dhaka, several southern districts of Bangladesh, on Sunday afternoon.

According to the United States Geological Survey website, the quake's epicentre was 98 km from Monywa of Sagaing in Myanmar. Its depth was 107 km.

The earthquake occurred at 2:44pm, said Farzana Sultana, assistant meteorologist of Seismic Observatory and Research Centre of Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

No casualties or damages were reported due to the quake.
