AL to invite all registered parties to founding anniversary programme: Quader

All registered political parties will be invited to the 75th founding anniversary programme of Awami League, said party’s general secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

Quader made the announcement while talking to reporters after a meeting with lawmakers from Dhaka district, mayors of Dhaka south and north city corporations and AL leaders of Dhaka south and north units.

He said Prime Minister and party President Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the platinum anniversary programme in front of Bangabandhu Bhaban on June 23.

On the same day, a cultural event will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan at 3 pm. Later, a discussion meeting will be taken place.

Besides, a cultural programme will be held at Rabindra Sarobar in the capital.

Boat race and cycle rally will be arranged at Hatirjheel, he also said.

The party general secretary also disclosed that the 75th founding anniversary of the country's oldest political party will be celebrated at each union and ward for three days.

Among others, who were present on the occasion include AL Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organising Secretaries BM Mozammel Haque and Mirza Azam, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat, Dhaka North City Mayor Atiqul Islam, AL Executive Committee Member Sayeed Khokan, MP, Ferdous Ahmed, MP, AL Dhaka South unit President Abu Ahmed Mannafi and General Secretary Humayun Kabir, AL Dhaka North unit President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and Jubo League General Secretary Mainul Hossain Chowdhury Nikhil.
