Jhenaidah AL leader Mintu placed on 8-day remand

A Dhaka court has put Jhenaidah district Awami League general secretary Saidul Karim Mintu on 8-day remand for questioning in a case filed over the murder of MP Anwarul Azim Anar.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain granted the remand plea on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, the investigating officer of the case produced the accused before the court with a 10-day remand plea.  

On 11 June, Mintu was detained from the capital's Dhanmondi area for his alleged involvement in the murder of Jhenaidah-4 MP.
