Summer vacation in schools shortened

Educational institutes across the country will resume classes on 26 June instead of 2 July as the government has decided to shorten summer vacation.

The education ministry took the decision on Thursday. 

Meanwhile, students will still have both Friday and Saturday as weekly holidays. 

According to the ministry, classes were called off due to intense high and low temperatures for quite a few days. As a result, many institutes were unable to complete the syllabus. To make up for those days, summer vacation was shortened. However, the upcoming winter vacation may be lengthened by a few days.
