Matiur removed from NBR post

National Board of Revenue (NBR) official Md Matiur Rahman was removed from the post of president of the Customs, Excise and VAT Appellate Tribunal. 

According to a notification issued by the Finance Ministry's Internal Resources Division (IRD), Matiur Rahman was transferred to the IRD on Sunday. 

Recently, it was found that Matiur Rahman's son bought a goat for Tk 15 lakh for Eid-ul-Azha. It was also found that he spent a total of Tk 70 lakh to buy cows. Afterwards, Matiur Rahman and his family's lavish lifestyle came under the media's scrutiny.
