Police cordon off suspected Narayanganj militant den

A special team of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of police on Tuesday laid a siege to a four-storied building suspecting a 'militant hideout' in the Boropa area under Rupganj Thana of Narayanganj on the outskirts of the capital city.

It is suspected that one or more militants are hiding at the house, Rupganj Police Station Officer in Charge Deepak Chandra Saha said. 

ATU Police Super Mahfuz-ul Alam Rasel told the Daily Samakal that a drive was recently conducted at a suspected militant den at Netrakona. In connection with that, a female militant was arrested from Cox's Bazar. After interrogating her, ATU decided to surround the house in Narayanganj. It is suspected that this den was used to train militants.
