Obaidul Quader to meet teachers' association

Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader will meet teachers under the Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers' Association to discuss their ongoing protests regarding the Universal Pension Scheme 'Prottoy.' 

The minister will meet the teachers on Thursday morning, said Professor Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan Secretary General of the Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers Association and President of Dhaka University Teachers Association. 

When asked whether their protest will continue, the leader said the protest will go on till their demand is fulfilled. 

Public university teachers across the country went on an indefinite work abstention from Monday (1 July) to press home their demand to reinstate previous pension facilities in place of the Universal Pension Scheme 'Prottoy'. As a result of this abstention, these universities have remained closed.
