Customs commissioner's nine-storeyed Bashundhara house, 2 flats confiscated

A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of a 9-storey house of Commissioner of Customs Valuation and Internal Audit Department Mohammad Enamul Haque in Bashundhara, two flats and three commercial spaces in the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams Juglul Hossain passed the order on Thursday after hearing the application of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). 

ACC public prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam confirmed the matter to the media.

According to sources at the ACC and the court, the ACC filed a case against Customs Commissioner Mohammad Enamul Haque on July 31 last year on the allegation of illegal acquisition of Tk 9 crore 76 lakh. Today, an application was submitted to the court  to seize Mohammad Enamul Haque's 9-storey house in G-Block of Bashundhara in Dhaka, two flats in Banani and Kakrail, three commercial spaces in Dhaka, including Mohammadpur and a car parking space in Gulshan. 

Apart from this, the court has ordered the confiscation of Enamul Haque's land in Gazipur and Badda.

The court also ordered the seizure of the 866 decimals of land and four flats in Dhaka in the name of the member of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Matiur Rahman and his wife and children. 

Apart from those, the court has recently ordered the confiscation of assets of NBR First Secretary Kazi Abu Mahmud Faisal and his family members.
