Benazir's Narayanganj bungalow seized

The luxurious bungalow of former inspector general of police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed located in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj has been confiscated on Saturday.

A team consisting of Narayanganj district administration and district anti-corruption commission seized the house at 3:30pm in Anand Housing Society area of Rupganj.

The team sealed the bungalow by attaching a notice at the front gate of it.

Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mahmudul Haque, local upazila administration and ACC officials were present at that time.

It is known that the bungalow was built in 2022 in Rupganj. Sources said that Benazir Ahmed used to come to the bungalow occasionally while he was in the country and used to spend the night.

In view of ACC's application, on June 12, the court ordered to seize Benazir's huge assets, including this bungalow, in the third phase. 

The court also appointed Deputy Commissioner to take care of the bungalow worth around Tk10 crore.

In the notice, Benzir's daughter Farheen Rishta Binte Benzir is cited as the owner of the bungalow.
