Question leak: 14 PSC officials remain fugitive

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Bangladesh Police has said 14 officials of the Public Service Commission (PSC) allegedly involved in leaking government job exam questions remain fugitive. 

Among them are PSC's former director Nikhil Chandra Ray, Shariful Islam Bhuiyan, Depak Banik, Khorshed Alam Khokon, Kazi Md Sumon, A K M Golam Parvez, Mehedi Hasan Khan, Golam Hamidur Rahman, Md Mizanur Rahman, Atiqul Islam, ATM Mostofa, Manfuz Kalu, Aslam, and Koushik Debnath. 

All 14 of them, as well as 60 more unnamed people were named in a case filed by police at the Paltan Police Station on Monday, a CID official told the Daily Samakal on Tuesday. CID has so far arrested 17 people by conducting drives in various locations in the country. 

Among those arrested are six PSC officials- deputy directors Abu Jafar and Jahangir Alam, Assistant Director Alamgir Kabir, Office Assistant Sajedul Islam, Auditor Priyonath Roy, office staff Khalilur Rahman, and former PSC driver Syed Abed Ali, according to the Criminal Investigation Department.

The other arrestees are Abu Solaiman Md Sohel, former Chhatra League leader and trader; Shahadat Hossain, a security guard of the Narayanganj passport office; Niamun Hasan, medical technician of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Sakhawat Hossain, a trader; Sayem Hossain, Liton Sarker, Sayed Sohanur Rahman Siam, son of Abed, Jahidul Islam, Mamunur Rashid, and Noman Siddiqi.

Recently, former PSC driver Syed Abed Ali's alleged involvement in the question leaks was exposed on social media. After that, the case was filed.
