10 injured in clash between police, BRACU students

Students involved in the quota reform movement blocked the road in front of BRAC University at Dhaka's Merul Badda on Thursday morning. A round of chase and counter-chase ensued when police tried to disperse the students.  

Police shot tear shells and rubber bullets at one point. At least 10 protesters were injured in the clash.

The incident has halted traffic in the area.  Several shops were vandalized during the chase-counter chase. 

Anti-discriminatory Student Movement leaders called for a 'complete shutdown' programme countrywide on Thursday to protest the attack on and death of students involved in the quota reform movement. 

During the shutdown, all establishments other than hospitals and emergency service providers were asked to remain closed.
