Police rescued by 3 helicopters from Badda

Three helicopters arrived at the capital's Merul Badda to rescue the police trapped inside the Canadian University of Bangladesh at around 2:30pm on Thursday. 

Students involved in the quota reform movement blocked the road in front of BRAC University at Dhaka's Merul Badda on Thursday morning. A round of chase and counter-chase ensued when police tried to disperse the students.  

Police shot tear shells and rubber bullets at one point. At least 10 protesters were injured in the clash. The incident has halted traffic in the area.  Several shops were vandalized during the chase-counter chase. 

At one point, police entered the Canadian University of Bangladesh, while the protesters remained outside. Police started firing rubber bullets and shellshots at the students, injuring many.
