Quota protesters reject govt's discussion proposal

Students protesting for quota reform have rejected the government's proposal for talks on quota reform issue.

They said, “The discussion could have been earlier. Discussion and shooting cannot go together.”

“You can't hold talks while students are being killed in the clashes,” Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, told The Daily Samakal on Thursday afternoon.

He said, “We will make some demands. Subject to meeting those demands can be negotiated. We are in the process of discussing those demands. We will place the demands in writing so that our demands are not placed wrongly.”
