Leave to appeal against HC verdict on quota

A leave to appeal has been filed against the High Court verdict that declared the cancelation of quotas in government jobs invalid.

Lawyer Shah Manjurul Haque filed the leave to appeal on behalf of two students on Thursday, seeking cancellation or reform of the verdict.

Earlier on July 10, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court ordered the parties to maintain the status quo, regarding quota system in government jobs.

The Appellate Division led by Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan gave the order.
