BNP leader Annie detained

BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie was detained by the police from Elephant Road area of the capital on Thursday afternoon.

Annie's elder brother Happy Chowdhury confirmed about the detainment to The Daily Samakal.

However, it is not known why he was detained.

According to the party sources, “There was widespread protest centring the quota reform movement across the country. Many party workers, including senior leaders of BNP, have been arrested. Annie may also be detained in that sequence.”
