3 coordinators of quota protesters are in DB custody

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) has detained Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud and Abu Bakr Majumdar - three coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement.

DB Chief and also Additional DMP Commissioner Mohammad Harun Or Rashid confirmed their detainment to the media on Friday night.

DB has taken them in custody for security reasons, said Harun.

Earlier, the other two coordinators, Sarjis Alam and Abdul Hannan Masud, complained that the three coordinators were taken away from the hospital.

Sarjis Alam said Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud were taken from Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital in the capital on Friday afternoon by a group of plainclothes detectives.
