Major reshuffle in police

Two additional IGPs, five additional DIGs and 48 officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police have been transferred simultaneously.

These transfers were made in four separate notifications issued by the Police-1 branch of the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday.

Deputy Secretary Md. Mahabubur Rahman Sheikh signed the notification by order of the President.

In one of these notifications, two additional IGPs have been transferred. Another notification transferred five additional DIGs.

Besides, 32 officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police have been transferred in one notification and 16 officers in another notification.

It is said in the notifications that this order issued in public interest will be effective immediately.
