6 coordinators to be released to family: DB chief

The six coordinators of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement will soon be released from the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police custody to their families. 

DB chief Harun-or-Rashid shared this information with journalists in front of the DB headquarters at around 2:30pm on Monday. 

The six coordinators were separately taken into custody one by one over the last few days. On Sunday night, all six of them announced the withdrawal of the programmes in a written statement.

However, the Anti-discrimination Student Movement denounced the call to withdraw all programmes later the same night and announced new public gatherings and protests on Monday.
