Writ seeks investigation on 16 child deaths

A writ petition was filed at the High Court seeking judicial inquiry on the death of 16 children during the quota reform protests countrywide. 

Lawyer Taimur Alam Khandaker filed the writ on Wednesday with the High Court bench of Justice Mostofa Zaman Islam and Justice F M Masud Hossain Dolon. 

The writ sought an order to create a judicial inquiry commission for each child's death. Additionally, it also sought the High Court's order to compensate each child's family Tk 1 crore. 

"Why did children die in their homes despite not joining the quota movement?" lawyer Taimur raised the question.
