Traffic halts as students gather at the Science Lab intersection

Students of various educational institutes gathered at the Science Lab intersection in Dhaka after the Jummah prayers on Friday, protesting the death of students and mass people during the quota reform movement. 

At around 2pm on Friday, students took out a procession from Dhaka College and marched towards the Science Lab intersection. They reached the BCSIR and again turned to the Science Lab intersection where they took position. 

The protesters only blocked one side of the road, leaving the other side open for vehicle movement. 

Police took up positions at the same spot. Some prison vans and APCs were also seen. 

The Anti-discrimination Student Movement has announced a countrywide “Prayer and Student-People's Mass Procession” on Friday. 

According to a press release issued Thursday, mass processions were called across the country after prayers at all religious establishments on Friday afternoon.
