Policeman killed in Khulna clash

A policeman was killed during a clash between the protesting students and the members of  law enforcement agencies at Gollamari intersection in Khulna city.

Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mozammel Haque said that the deceased has been identified as Constable Sumon, who was posted at Khulna Police Lines.

At least 30 other policemen were injured in the incident.

Suman's house is in Kachua upazila of Bagerhat district. He was the bodyguard of Assistant Commissioner of Police of Sholadanga zone.

Clashes broke out when a procession of students reached Gallamari area of ​​the city around 3:30 pm on Friday.

Police Constable Sumon was severely beaten by the agitators during the clash in the evening. He was taken to Khulna City Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
