Shahbagh blocked, BCL chased away

Protesters have gathered at the capital's Shahbagh to press home their one-point demand as part of the nationwide civil disobedience campaign. After BCL activists pitched brickbats at the protesters, they were chased and retreated into the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital. 

A massive number of students and general people started to gather at the Shahbagh intersection at around 10:30am on Sunday, halting traffic in the adjoining areas. 

Earlier, BCL activists started to lob brickbats at the protesters gathering at Shahbagh. They were chased into the BSMMU hospital. Protesters continued to vandalize the hospital till 11:30am. Black smoke was seen coming out from the hospital.
