Adv Md Asaduzzaman appointed new attorney general

Advocate Md Asaduzzaman has been appointed as the new attorney general. His appointment was ensured through a notification issued Thursday. 

"The President in line with article 64 (1) of the Constitution appointed senior lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court Md Asaduzzaman as the attorney general of Bangladesh until passing of further notice," the gazette notification signed by Law and Justice Division Md Golam Sarwar said.

The appointment will be effective immediately, the notification adds. 

Former attorney general AM Amin Uddin resigned on Wednesday from his post, citing "personal difficulties."

Asaduzzaman is also the human rights secretary of BNP.
