We have to protect the independence earned by youth: Dr Yunus

Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus has declared "We have to protect the independence that the youth have earned," as he arrived in Dhaka on Thursday to take over as the country's interim leader. 

Mentioning that the youth have freed the country and now they can rebuild it the way they want, Dr Yunus said, "The youth have creativity in them, they can use it."

Dr Yunus made the remarks at a press conference after he arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka on an Emirates flight at 2:10pm on Thursday (8 August). 

Several coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, as well as the chiefs of the three armed forces, arrived at the airport to receive Dr Yunus. Strict security measures were taken at the airport ahead of his arrival.
