Bootlicking media will be shut off: Home adviser

Any media that resorts to bootlicking will be shut off, interim government's Home Affairs Adviser Brigadier General M Sakhawat Hossain has said. 

The adviser made the remarks when he visited injured police members at the Central Police Hospital in Dhaka's Rajarbagh on Sunday. 

"I promise you, if media resorts to flattery then media will be shut off. Don't call bootlickers to talk shows. Don't become a bootlicking media. A country falls when the media does not tell the truth," he said. 

He added, "If the media portrayed the truth at that time then police would not have suffered this way. The media repeatedly said nothing happened. But I saw everything on BBC."
