Ex-army officer Ziaul arrested in Dhaka

Former army officer Major General Ziaul Ahsan was arrested from the capital's Khilkhet area late on Thursday night in connection with a murder case. 

Confirming the matter, DMP additional deputy commissioner Obaidur Rahman Shamim said the former director general of NTMC was arrested in a case filed with the New Market Police Station regarding the murder of a shop assistant. 

On 6 August, Major General Ziaul Ahsan was relieved from service, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.
