Fake freedom fighters will be punished: Faruk E Azam

Any fake freedom fighters identified will be punished for ‘deceiving’ the state, said Bir Protik Faruk E Azam, the advisor to the liberation war affairs and disaster management ministries.

While briefing journalists on Saturday at the Chattogram Circuit House regarding the city's law and order situation, he said scrutinising the list of freedom fighters; the government will be able to identify the real freedom fighters.

The fake ones will be dropped and will be punished for deceiving the state, he said.

Later, the adviser visited the burnt Kotwali police station and talked to the policemen.
