At least 13 dead in flood

At least 13 people have died in the flood that has affected 12 districts of the country, a Disaster Management and Relief Ministry press release said on Friday. 

The Daily Samakal was able to verify the deaths of at least eight people. Out of the eight dead, some drowned and some were electrocuted. Additionally, two others remain missing. 

Four people have died in Cumilla. Two of them drowned while one was electrocuted and one was hit on the head with a fallen tree. The incidents happened in Cumilla City, Laksam, Chouddagram, and Nangolkot upazilas. Three of the deceased were identified as Keramat Ali (45) from Nangalkot, Rafi (15) from Cumilla city, and Shahadat Hossain (34) from Chouddagram. The child who drowned in Laksam could not be identified. 

Four people went missing in floodwater in Cox's Bazar on Thursday. Two of the bodies were found in the afternoon. They were identified as Amzad Hossain (22) of Purbo Jumchhori village. However, two others remain missing. 

One drowned in Fulgazi upazila of Feni. 

One drowned in Birchandrapur village under Akhaura of Brahmanbaria.
